sliding on objects + moar
hello im new to the forums and i have tons of questions needing to be answered. first when i set object collision i want to slide on the object depending on my angle toward the object. Also i when i move a character around i can look up, move forward and i will fly up and i need a good gravity function. also in a lot of games they use lighting where you can cast shadows and make reflections yet there are no tutorials anywhere. Finally how would you make a muzzle flash on a gun when you shoot? if you can answer any of these it would be appreciated!

Re: sliding on objects + moar
do you use sparkys collision? that's what you really need for good collision and gravity.
I'll hopefully be doing a tutorial series on it soon if I'm not too busy.
You can look at the dark dungeon example for how to get a muzzle flash but basically it's a semi transparent image that's placed at the end of the gun and hidden. Then when the player shoots it's shown and rotated randomly every frame. You can use different techniques depending on how realistic you want it.
